Creating Explosions

Hello everyone i just started learning maya and wow, I love it. well i was wondering if anyone new of some great tutorials on creating explosions. I found one and had it working well the still renders looked great but when i went to animate it wouldn't work this is the link to the tutorial if you can help it would be much appreciated.

Welcoem to the forum and glad you like Maya. Do you have yours so we can see where it is failing. Do you have an example ?

The tutorial puffy explosion i have the explosion set up and looking good in still from but when he goes to explain how to animate he just says to change some perametters, but he says nothing about key frames or how to animate.

"a qoute from the tutorial where im going wrong For animating this type of explosion, you will only need to animate a few shader parameters. first animate incandescence input bias. Make it go from bright yellow to black (1,-1)."

i know how to change these parameters but i dont know how to do it so that it is animated or on key frames i guess. when ever i change them it just changes the frame im on i guess.
